God of Weapons bolts a Tetris-style weapon grid onto Brotato-style auto-attacking horde combat, and the idea alone is worth the six dollars. Every gun you pick up has to fit a shape on your inventory board, so building a loadout means solving a packing puzzle at the same time you're mowing down a room full of enemies.
The character roster backs the hook up. Thieves trade armor and stopping power for faster attacks, tankier classes eat hits other heroes can't survive, and fusing weapons together into stronger versions gives every run something to chase. The cartoony art holds up over long sessions, and Archmage kept supporting the game after launch, adding a full paid expansion in 2025 with three new characters and an Infinity Mode for players who'd cleared everything else.
Look past the hook and the cracks show. Most weapons play close to identically no matter what they look like, and Steam's own feedback threads are full of players asking for arena shapes beyond the same square room. Ranged builds outclass melee badly enough that dedicated melee players have to spend inventory slots on range upgrades to compete, and a 43-hour reviewer flagged hitbox detection and buggy achievements that still haven't been patched out. The tutorial barely explains any of this, so a lot of it gets learned the hard way.
It's a real 1.0 release that still plays like it needed another few months in Early Access, and now it's selling a paid DLC on top of that foundation. Steam agrees, more or less: eighty-four percent positive all-time, dipping to seventy percent over the last thirty days. That's a game best bought on sale, while the rough edges get sanded down.
It's fine. The inventory-tetris hook works, and it's worth six dollars, but wait for a sale before you add the DLC on top.
